THE FUNK PHOENIX PROJECT
A project we created in 2024 for sustainable material innovation, recycling and the circular economy.
A project we created in 2024 for sustainable material innovation, recycling and the circular economy.
What the world considers waste, we see as the raw material of the future.
Working closely with experts from IMEKO in Chile, we transform one of the biggest environmental pollutants – cigarette filters – into a high-purity technical material: Celion®.
Using a patented process, the cellulose acetate is extracted and converted into granules, which form the basis for our most sustainable vision.
A genuine circular economy requires control over the entire process.
At our own factory in Kinsau, we refine Celion granulate into exclusive acetate sheets. Every part of the glasses is milled with the utmost precision and polished by hand. We close the loop not only in theory, but also in practice: our internal production waste is collected and fed directly back into the :
FUNK PHOENIX PROJECT.
At our manufactory in Kinsau, the story of a material does not end at the milling machine. During production, we consistently collect all offcuts and milling chips that are produced when processing our acetate sheets.
Instead of disposing of these valuable leftovers, we recycle them directly in our own cycle. The solid offcuts and fine shavings are used to create new, exclusive acetate sheets with a distinctive structure. The FUNK PHOENIX PROJECT proves that genuine craftsmanship can turn every leftover piece into a new vision.
