At FUNK, you will not only find high-quality glasses with timeless designs and durability. You can also have us create glasses according to your specifications – exclusively for you.
Your optician will work with you to design your own personalised glasses, tailored just for you. The frames are made entirely by hand. To ensure that your custom-made glasses fit perfectly, two to three fittings are necessary. There are various options for customisation: Customisation and adjustment of existing frames, e.g. filing down the nose piece, shortening the arms, fitting longer arms, etc.

How long does it take to make bespoke glasses?
Customised production is a craft that takes time.
Depending on the complexity of the design and choice of materials, you can expect a lead time of 3 to 6 weeks from final design approval.
How exactly does the customisation process work?
The process usually involves three main steps:
1. Individual consultation & measurement (face and anatomy analysis)
2. Design & sample production (selection of shape and material)
3. Handcrafted finishing in our manufactory workshops.
Do I have to visit you several times for a custom-made product?
Yes, to guarantee the perfect fit, two to three appointments are usually necessary: a consultation/measurement appointment, a fitting appointment for the blank and the final collection appointment.
How much do bespoke spectacles cost?
Since every pair of custom-made glasses is unique, prices vary depending on the amount of work involved and the materials used. Costs start at around £600 for an individual adjustment and are higher for a completely new design.
Custom-made glasses are handmade individually for you and are therefore a precious one-off item.

Are there any hidden costs associated with custom-made products?
No. We will provide you with a transparent cost estimate covering all steps from consultation and design to production.
What are the advantages of bespoke glasses compared to ready-made glasses?
The greatest advantage is the perfect, pressure-free fit and individual style. Custom-made glasses are tailored precisely to your facial anatomy (bridge of the nose, distance between ears, face shape), maximising comfort and providing optimal support.
Can I freely choose my desired shape and colour?
Absolutely! Unlike conventional glasses, you can choose the shape, colour, size, temple length and material (e.g. recycled acetate, laminated acetate, vintage acetate, etc.) to create a truly unique pair of glasses. We offer an extensive range of colours to choose from.
Are bespoke glasses also suitable for difficult face shapes?
Yes, especially for unusual anatomies (e.g. very wide faces, asymmetrical features or unusual nose shapes), custom-made glasses are often the only solution to ensure a truly satisfactory and comfortable fit.
