Acetate is an exceptional material that has been used since the 1950s for the manufacture of spectacles, combs and buttons. As a natural product made from cotton, it offers many positive properties: it can be processed in a similar way to wood, can be polished again and again and is ideal for recycling. We mill the inner and outer moulds of the spectacles from a plate, resulting in remnants and chips. We have been recycling these materials for over eight years and have had new plates produced with the help of a European service provider. Since the beginning of this year, we have been able to carry out this process completely in-house.
Our approach enables us to recycle acetate efficiently and create sustainable, high-quality products.
The material left over from the manufacturing process of spectacle frames in our factory is discarded by many other spectacle manufacturers.
But NOT at our factory!
We have managed to convert all leftover material into new, valuable raw material using a specially developed recycling process, which we then use to manufacture new spectacle frames.
