Acetate is an exceptional material that has been used since the 1950s for the manufacture of spectacles, combs and buttons. As a natural product made from cotton, it offers many positive properties: it can be processed in a similar way to wood, can be polished again and again and is ideal for recycling. We mill the inner and outer moulds of the spectacles from a plate, resulting in remnants and chips. We have been recycling these materials for over eight years and have had new plates produced with the help of a European service provider. Since the beginning of this year, we have been able to carry out this process completely in-house.
