Hypatia was one of the most eminent scholars of late antiquity. As a philosopher, mathematician and astronomer, she devoted her life to the pursuit of knowledge and the understanding of the world. In Alexandria, she taught philosophy, mathematics and astronomy and was revered for her exceptional erudition and clarity of thought.
The Hypatia model is as independent in character as the woman after whom it is named. The delicate titanium frame combines a clean, geometric shape with an artfully integrated acetate rim. The contrast between the lightweight metal and the striking acetate ring lends the frame a special depth and a distinctive, sculptural effect.
