Back in 2018, Dieter Funk reached a new level of innovation: he produces his own recycled acetate and uses it to make new glasses. The acetate cuttings are collected during the production process and sorted by colour. As in a recipe, the quantities of different colours are then combined, ground and pressed into new acetate sheets under the influence of heat. This technique makes Funk a pioneer in the European eyewear market and results in eyewear that is 100% Made in Germany.
