Hel is a Norse goddess of the dead and daughter of Loki. Her realm of Helheim is a bleak and gloomy place, but at the same time a lively and warming one. Criminals and liars will suffer eternal cold, pain and hunger there. To some she is kind and endearing, to others relentless and cruel. She unites apparent opposites.
