Sometimes the best designs don't come from the drawing board, but directly from the personal passion and skill of our team. The Esra model has a very special history, as it is the result of the first model designed and handmade by our talented optician Esra from the FUNK Optik Store in Düsseldorf.
We were immediately impressed by the result: the frame was so balanced, elegant and harmonious on her that we all agreed – this model simply had to be part of the FUNK-Schuster collection. The Esra is proof of how a spontaneous, successful design can find its way into series production. Its delicate, medium-sized shape flatters the face and offers an aesthetic that is instantly appealing.
The name: the Turkish-Arabic name Esra (‘the fast traveller’, ‘night journey’) symbolises dynamism, elegance and creativity – fitting for a design that took us by storm.
Esra is available in many beautiful colours – including the Colours of Nature shades. These models captivate with genuine, laminated natural materials – carefully selected flowers and plant parts – that make each pair of glasses an individual, nature-loving work of art
