Hjordas
Available für pre-order – release date end of May/beginning of June!
Hjordas (also Hjordis or Hjördis) is a character from Norse mythology. She is the daughter of King Eilimis. She was Sigmund's second wife and gave birth to a son, Sigurd, who would go on to become the most famous of all the heroes of the Wölsungen family. When her husband was killed by Odin in the battle against Hunding's sons and his sword broke on the spear of the god Gungnir, she carefully saved the pieces so that her son could dispose of them later. At some point, a new sword is made from it, which Sigurd used to kill the dragon Fafnir. Hjördis moves to King Helferich's court, where Sigurd grows up.
We 'forged' this rather medium-sized model, which is beautifully feminine with curves, just as Hjördis probably looked. It is riveted, which makes it very strong and long-lasting.
You can also get this in our new in-house recycling colour, which is a deep shade of burgundy.
